As the Head of Portfolio in Skangas you will manage the portfolio of LNG contracts for Skangas to maximize profitability across Nordic countries in industrial, marine and power segments. The Head of Portfolio is part of the management team and will play a key role in the company’s growth and profitability.

Responsibilities and main tasks:

  • Lead the portfolio team, consisting of 2 traders and 1 analyst
  • Manage the LNG and feed gas procurement agreements
  • Plan, develop and execute portfolio management strategies into trading and hedging ideas based on short- and long-term signals
  • Manage, monitor, analyse and report positions in portfolios, assess risks and undertake appropriate actions
  • Carry out quantitative analysis, risk modelling, optimization and financial analysis
  • Support sales team in short-term and long-term sales – pricing analysis, risk mitigation and maximize profitability
  • Support and coordinate operations with logistics team
  • Provide market outlooks and perform fundamental top down analysis in energy markets (LNG, gas hubs, oil products and electricity), market drivers and policies

 Educational background and experience:

  • Master degree in relevant subjects
  • 10 years + experience in relevant industries (oil and gas, electricity markets)
  • Strong operational and commercial experience
  • Expertise in portfolio management, preferably energy market related portfolios
  • Excellent market knowledge of LNG, gas and oil products (power markets)
  • Knowledge of LNG market drivers in the Nordic area
  • Understanding of LNG value chain
  • Understanding of derivatives, basic trading strategies and products in the electricity oil and gas businesses

We are looking for a candidate who identifies with Skangas’ values: Open minded, integrity and business driven. Sound analytical skills and strong business acumen are essential for succeeding in the role. We expect full English proficiency, written and verbal, as well as excellent computer skills.

The role includes collaboration with Skangas’ parent company Gasum’s relevant functions (natural gas and biogas) and help with market information and transactions on their behalf. Location is in Stavanger, and the candidate must be willing to travel, mainly within the Nordic countries.
